  • Tara Labs RSC Digital 110, Part 2

25 years ago, Footloose, along with its soundtrack, hit the scene.  It enabled Kenny Loggins to go from "popular" to "star."  It allowed Deniece Williams to have one last hit.  In "Holding Out For A Hero," it gave Bonnie Tyler a chance to redeem herself for her awful "Total Eclipse Of The Heart."  It showcases "Almost Paradise," an awesome duet between Loverboy's Mike Reno and Heart's Ann Wilson.

25 years ago, I didn't know about the compact disc.  And no one knew that a CD player could be split into a separate transport and DAC.  Well, nowadays, DACs can accept inputs from CD transports/players, DVD players, satellites, DATs, and computers.  Thus, interest in digital cables is reborn.  Yesterday, I introduced Tara Labs' RSC Digital 110.  It is not to be confused with Tara Labs' next higher up model, the RSC Air Digital 110.  How dumb can Tara Labs be?

Here are the markings for the regular RSC Digital 110.

I've been using Tara Labs products for over a decade.  All those years ago, I wish I had the Cable Cooker.  Our Cooker now has the upgraded frequency sweep generator.  As we do not have an old Cooker, we cannot perform a side-by-side Cooker shootout.  Nevertheless, the RSC Digital 110 will be on the new Cooker for 4.5 days.

You know what?  After installing the new board, I was told that the fan wasn't needed.  So I left the fan disconnected.  Without the fan, the Cooker is dead silent. Without the fan noise and air blowing, you don't even know that the Cooker is on.  So do not forget about it.  You may end up leaving your cables on for too long, thus over-Cooking them.

You know what?  I looked up and down the cable.  Nowhere does it say, "Tara Labs!"

While Footloose's hits got all the attention, Kenny Loggins actually has an even better song on that soundtrack.  It's called "I'm Free (Heaven Helps The Man)," which is a blueprint for Richard Marx's more uptempo songs.

"Forget Footloose," says Tessa.  "I want to hear Rocky IV!"
