  • XLO VDO ER-DVD3, Part 4

Ah, January '88.  25 years ago, we marveled at little Brit Rick Astley, sounding so big and soulful.  In those days, everyone had cable TV.  So at the very least, we could see Rick Astley's videos on VH1.

Well, 25 years ago, we knew about splitting video signals into red/green/blue.  That came about via S-video.  I don't think any of my classmates knew about component video.

Well, 25 years ago, everyone was bitch-slapping each other over whether cables made any difference.  Never mind the phenomenon of cable burn-in!  Screw that.  Let's get the XLO VDO ER-DVD3 onto the audiodharma Cable Cooker.  Again, since I was too lazy to get RCA-BNC adapters, I can Cook two of the leads at a time.  Let's start with the red and blue leads for 1.5 to 2.0 days.

When Astley sang "Never Gonna Give You Up," little did he know that that would be the audiophiles' dedication to the Cable Cooker.  So let us now Cook the green and red leads for 1.5 to 2.0 days.

Together forever?  Nah, just Cook the blue and green leads for 1.5 to 2.0 days.  Now the VDO ER-DVD3 is ready for some regular use.
