  • Shunyata Antares, Part 2

When Peter Gabriel was still in Genesis, he needed to tend to his wife, who was having a difficult pregnancy.  But his bandmates wanted to write, record, and tour.  So after The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway tour, PG left Genesis.  From time to time, PG would work with the solo members of Genesis.  But over 35 years later, PG still has not come back into the Genesis fold.

35 years ago, I discovered FM radio.  San Francisco had several "classic rock" stations.  From time to time, I did indeed hear PG's initial solo effort, "Solsbury Hill."

Can't we all just get along?  While we're waiting for a PG/Genesis reunion, audiophiles still idiotically bicker about cable burn-in.

Since I had two identical samples of the Shunyata Antares, I decided to Cook one, and leave the other un-treated.  No contest.  The Cooker strips away layers of grunge and grain.  This allows you to "see" the music more clearly.  Furthermore, the soundscape is larger, not so crammed between the left and right channels.
