  • Shunyata Lyra, Part 2

Originally, Harry Nilsson was perhaps best-known for "Everybody's Talkin'."  When it was featured in Midnight Cowboy, it became a hit in 1969, making it all the way to #6.  By then, San Francisco's Ghirardelli chocolate company had moved production to the factory across the Bay in San Leandro.

Well, 40 years ago, Nilsson outdid "Everybody's Talkin'," when his "Without You" made it to #1.  When my house in San Leandro was renovated in 2004, one of the first songs we played upon move-in was Nilsson's "Without You."  Back then, my Shunyata Orion speaker cable was equipped with awesome Z-Plug bananas.  However, my sample of the Lyra comes with spades.  Notice that Shunyata have labeled the spades, telling you whether they should go on the amp or the speaker.  Furthermore, Shunyata have the courtesy to label the positive and negative leads.

If that weren't enough, Shunyata's termination barrel at the amp end is labeled as such.

On a recent visit to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Fountain at S.F.'s Ghirardelli Square, we heard Nilsson's "Without You."  What's Cooking?

Well, the Shunyata Lyra is Cooking!  That is, it has been on the audiodharma Cable Cooker for 4 days.
