  • Cardas Cross, Part 2

While the 12th Street/Oakland City Center BART station is no longer the BART transfer point (BART now uses the 19th Street station to link up trains), it is kind of a crossroad.  Besides the City Center, it is close to Chinatown.  And on the same side of Broadway is Old Oakland.  Adjacent to Old Oakland is the Warriors' facility:

About this time 15 years ago, I visited an audiophile who lived in the Oakland hills, up from City Center station.  It was such a beautiful spring day, kind of like now.  And we heard Jackson Browne's new (for 1996) song, "The Barricades Of Heaven."

I can't help it.  Because I was up in the Oakland hills, and because that audiophile used Cardas cables, I associate Cardas with the woods.  That is in contrast to, say, San Francisco's financial district, which makes me think about XLO.  But anyway, the Cross speaker cable was in production in 1996.  And according to Cardas' website, the Cross is still in production.

But in 1996, the Cable Cooker did not exist.  Thus, the game has changed.  So without further ado, let's put the Cross bi-wire speaker cable on the Cooker.

As an internal bi-wire cable, this sample of Cross has to be Cooked in stages.  The "High" path should see 3-4 days of Cook time.

Likewise, the "Low" path should see 3-4 days of Cook time.  Yes, some parts of the cable thus see 6-8 days of Cook time.  Yes, observant readers, this Cooker is outfitted with Cardas binding posts.
