Gallo A'Diva Ti, Part 8
To the casual observer, it may seem that San Francisco's Sunset district is always fogged in. But that's not quite true. If you go during the winter, there's no fog. Alas, it's also cold. So when does the Sunset have its "nicest," sunniest, most fog-free weather? In the fall.
And here is what the Sunset and Ocean Beach look like, when they are fog-free AND warm. When I was out there 20 years ago, I realized that the houses had living rooms as small as my apartment. I think I came to that realization while listening to Y&T's "Come In From The Rain." Curious that a Bay Area band such as Y&T would sing about rain, when we don't get much of it.
Anyway, Y&T never could put themselves on the map. Their albums just didn't measure up to the energy of their live performances. Still, 20 years ago, Y&T tried to ride heavy metal's last wave. I actually had their CD, Ten, while in my little dorm room at UC Santa Cruz. The songs on this album are nameless and faceless; they just don't stick out.
Okay, so Y&T's Ten sucks. But it still inspired me to look for quality small speakers. If you get the Gallo desktop stand for the A'Diva Ti, you don't necessarily have to place it on a table or desk. You could place it on an existing speaker stand. All right, all right; back in 1990, lousy wooden speaker stands were in vogue. It wasn't until the next year or two, when Target's [the British company] metal stands and racks became popular. On the Penaudio stand (above), which is silver colored, the A-Diva Ti looks kind of futuristic. With the desktop stand, you can angle the speaker, so that it fires at your ears. If this were in a dorm room, it'd mimic a cool-looking lamp. Such style!

Agreed-
Y&T had too much of a 'party' thing going on. I do not believe those guys were serious about the music...
