• Krell KAV-250cd, Part 9

  15 years ago, I was enjoying a few tracks off of OMD's Liberator album.  An interesting one is "Dream Of Me," which samples "Love's Theme," by Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra.  And now that I think about it, the original "Love's Theme" was on the charts exactly 35 years ago, in 1974.
  
  Whoa!  Our crabapple tree's buds are starting to open.  That means the leaves are starting to grow.  Note that the fruit never fell off.
  
  Whoa!  If you want to open up the sound of the Krell KAV-250cd, use a Pranawire Maha Samadhi powercord.  Prior to this, I was using primarily Acrolink P/C-046 or Pranawire Kensho powercords.  But the Maha Samadhi is in a completely different solar system.  Never mind that the Maha Samadhi costs 50% more than the KAV-250cd itself.  I'm just here to report the results.
  
  Tessa popped in the single for OMD's "Dream Of Me."  The KAV-250cd had an openness, delicacy, and streamlined imaging I didn't know it was capable of.  It's still firmly in the solid state camp, but now it has some welcomed finesse. 
  
  Here's a better look at the Maha Samadhi on the KAV-250cd.  After OMD, we moved on to some more synth pop from Erasure.  It actually had a heretofore unheard of grace.  Who would have known?  In fact, the sound was so succint, when my wife heard Erasure's "Precious," she remarked that it was "the gayest of gay."  But that's how it is, and the Maha Samadhi/KAV-250cd brought out the musical truth.
